A 1999 graduate of philosophy, psychology & physiology at Brasenose College, Oxford, Mylo quit studying for a philosophy Ph.D at UCLA to return home and produce music.

He released his debut album, Destroy Rock & Roll in 2004, on the Breastfed Recordings label, which he co-owns. Mylo produced the album on a computer in his own bedroom.

He has provided remixes for the likes of Scissor Sisters ("Mary"), Amy Winehouse ("Pumps"), The Knife ("Take My Breathe Away"), and The Killers ("Somebody Told Me"). One of his notable works is a remix of Kylie Minogue's #2 UK hit "I Believe in You" in 2004 which appeared on the single which peaked at #3 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the U.S.

His biggest chart success to date came in autumn 2005, when the single "Dr. Pressure", a mash-up of his own song Drop The Pressure and Miami Sound Machine's "Dr. Beat," originally created by mashup artists Phil n' Dog before being released by Mylo, peaked at #3 on the UK singles chart. The single performed well in the U.S., especially on the Hot Dance Airplay and Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts. It made the Top 10 on both charts. Following previous Top 20 hits he had had such as "Drop the Pressure" (#19), Destroy Rock & Roll (#15) and In My Arms (#13) during late 2004 and 2005.

The Courteeners are an British band formed in Manchester, England in 2006 by Liam Fray (guitar/vocals), Michael Campbell (drums/backing vocals), Daniel Conan Moores (Guitar), and Mark Cuppello (bass). All four band members hail from the Middleton area of Greater Manchester, and have known each other since they were ten years old.

The band's debut single, "Cavorting" was released on August 6th 2007 by Loog Records. The single sold out immediately, with all available copies pre-ordered by their friends. A second single, "Acrylic" was released on October 22nd 2007 reaching number 44 in the UK Chart, the video also received considerable playtime on MTV2.

The band have often been compared, both in look and in attitude, to fellow Mancunian rock band Oasis. The band have played down these comparisons, saying although Oasis are their idols, they sound "nothing like Oasis musically".

Andy Yorke (born 1972) is a musician and former lead singer and guitarist for the band Unbelievable Truth, formed in 1994. He is the younger brother of Radiohead singer Thom Yorke.

Unbelievable Truth was a three piece band from Oxford, with Yorke on lead guitar and vocals, Nigel Powell on drums and piano and Jason Moulster on bass guitar and backing vocals. The band signed a record deal with Virgin and released their debut album "Almost Here" in 1998. The album received positive reviews by musical press and eventually reached #22 in the UK album chart. However sustained commercial success was not forthcoming due to a lack of support from Virgin and the band was dropped. In 2000, they released their second album "sorrythankyou" on Shifty Disco, the same Oxford independent label that released their first single. This album received mixed reviews from critics and failed to make any commercial inroads. In 2000, Andy Yorke left the band to pursue other interests, returning to university to study Russian politics and business. A posthumous double live and b-sides album was subsequently released in 2001 named "Misc. Music".

Leaving the band in 2000, Andy decided to take a complete break from the music scene, and fans feared that the writer of intimately beautiful songs such as Angel, Advice To A Lover and Stone would never again grace them with his emotively melancholy voice. Then, almost from nowhere, Andy realised that he still loved and felt music intensely, as was shown in the collection of songs he'd written during his hiatus. It was then he decided to get in touch with some of his old friends from both his Unbelievable Truth days and other bands, and return with his solo stuff. And it's a more than welcome return for this intelligent wordsmith.

A new song from OASIS called ‘Falling Down’ was premiered last July 11th, in a Toronto`s Radio, called Edge 102.1.

This posted version was remixed by the Chemical Brothers.
The label told that this is NOT the first single from the new album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ (in stores October 7th), that’s ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ which we’ll debut that Friday August 15th.

Oasis is putting the final touches on their new album, “Dig Out Your Soul.” The band has now secured an October 7th release date and they’re also revealing the songs that will make up the disc. Cuts include: “Bag It Up,” “The Turning,” “Waiting For The Rapture,” “The Shock Of The Lightning,” “I’m Outta Time,” “(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady,” “Falling Down,” “To Be Where There’s Life,” “Ain’t Got Nothin’,” “The Nature Of Reality,” and “Soldier On.” “The Shock Of Lightning” will be the first single in the U.S. In addition, the band has commissioned London designer Julian House to create the original artwork. The band recorded the disc at London ’s Abbey Road and mixed it in Los Angeles with producer Dave Sardy.

Radiohead just released a new video for its song "House of Cards" from the album "In Rainbows".

No cameras or lights were used. Instead two technologies were used to capture 3D images: Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR. Geometric Informatics scanning systems produce structured light to capture 3D images at close proximity, while a Velodyne Lidar system that uses multiple lasers is used to capture large environments such as landscapes. In this video, 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute produced all the exterior scenes.

TCB ESSENTIALS: Akufen - My Way (2002)

Akufen is the musical pseudonym of Montreal, Canada based artist, Marc Leclair.

Leclair makes electronic music that is often described as minimal house, minimal techno, glitch, click hop, or microhouse. Leclair's pseudonym comes from the French word for tinnitus (ringing of the ears), acouphène.

His 2002 release entitled My Way introduced his concept of "microsampling", which was essentially a way of using extremely small and short clips of samples he had randomly recorded off of F.M. radio broadcasts as a key musical element. The Doepfer A-100 series of synth modules also plays a significant role in the production of Leclair's sound.

Leclair has also gone under the pseudonyms Horror Inc., David Scott, Nefuka, and Anna Kaufen.

The album has over 2000 samples of radio feed on it.

James Zabiela (born August 7, 1979) is a DJ from Southampton in the United Kingdom. His signature style is a fusion of Breakbeat and House music. He is known for his turntable skills, extensive use of loops and effects, and the use of the Pioneer CDJ1000s, EFX1000 as well as more recently using Ableton Live.

Zabiela first gained fame in 2000 by winning Muzik Magazine's Bedroom Bedlam competition, Best Bedroom Bedlam DJ 2001, and has since been signed to Sasha's Excession agency. In 2003, he and Paul Sidoli founded the record label Hearing Aid.

Ursula 1000 is a musical project of Brooklyn-born DJ Alex Gimeno ranging from lounge to breakbeat, glam to cha cha, and everything in between.

Alex Gimeno, the man behind Ursula 1000, was born in Brooklyn, New York. During his childhood, he and his family moved to Miami Beach. He moved back to Brooklyn in the late 1990s.

Gimeno entered the music business around 1990. He was a DJ on Miami Beach for nearly a decade, and early in his career, he played drums for a band called 23. Other members of 23 later formed the band The Postmarks. He also had his own show on the pirate radio station WOMB.

After extensive work as a DJ, he sent a tape of original work to Thievery Corporation / Washington DC-based record label Eighteenth Street Lounge, which was immediately interested in signing him. On that label, Gimeno has released a number of albums containing mixes of an eclectic selection of bands, ranging from The Bees to Kraak en Smaak; Gimeno knows many of the artists whose work he uses in his mixes personally. Aside from mixing the music of others, he also creates his own original works such as the studio albums Kinda' Kinky and Here Comes Tomorrow.

The name Ursula 1000 is a reference to Ursula Andress, a famous actress, Bond Girl and sex symbol of the 1960s.

Currently, he travels the world as a dj and has a monthly residency at APT in New York. His works have been used in episodes of Sex And The City, Grey's Anatomy, and Desperate Housewives to name a few. Recently, his Ursadelica`s Theme "Come on my house", is the main theme in the "Girls of the Playboy`s Mansion" Series.
